OBJECTIVES AND REFERENCE FRAMEWORK

The decarbonization program is inspired by the commitments of the European Green Deal and aims to achieve net zerothrough decarbonization processes and air purification solutions. As highlighted in the MIQUAA II project, the company integrates technologies for CO₂ capture and conversion, as well as advanced air purification, into its core activities.

KEY ACTIVITIES

·       Energy and carbon audits to establish consumption and emissions baselines

·       Identification of opportunities (project pipeline) for electrification, heat recovery, and process optimization

·       Assessment of renewable energy systems (RES) and energy storage solutions for self-generation

·       Implementation of digital platforms for continuous monitoring of energy and environmental performance, using sensors and microservices derived from MIQUAA

·       Support for implementation (project management, engineering, and financing)

·       Preparation for measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV), including data collection for ESG reporting and compliance with standards (e.g. ISO 50001)

RESULTS AND STRATEGIC RELEVANCE

The program establishes a clear roadmap to reduce emissions while lowering energy consumption and operating costs. It integrates the outcomes of MIQUAA / MIQUAA II, linking air purification, decarbonization, and seismic resilience into a measurable sustainability pathway. This approach strengthens the company’s ESG performance and prepares Italimpianti for future emissions regulations and reporting requirements.
